SISA CIRCUIT

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The SISA Circuit is for old and young groms alike. The circuit is made up of 5 competitions. The competitions have divisions that count for overall points (Grandmasters O45 – U16). Surfers not only compete for their overall South Island ranking but also their ranking within their club.

SISA sanctioned events are hosted by local clubs and SISA supports these competitions by assisting with funding, Judging, equipment and people power. This enables our surfers to gain experience surfing in a variety of environments and conditions. It also gives our members a chance to share the love and build relationships with other surfers and surf whanau from all over Te Waipounamu. Keep scrolling for our events calendar.

GROM SERIES

The Connect Group Grom Series is a quad competition circuit covering four South Island locations – Dunedin, Westport, Christchurch and Kaikōura that sees groms (Boys & Girls) surf in age group divisions from U14 – U18.

The series sees surfers gain points depending on their placing in each individual comp. The best 3 out of 4 finishes counts towards the groms overall standing in the South Island. The Christchurch and Kaikōura competitions are also Surfing New Zealand rated competitions. The grom series is a SISA run initiative and is widely recognised as a pathway to national recognition for many young surfers.
